I'm actually reviewing about the TV version of this app (via Amazon Fire). I can't find a venue.for doing it so I'm placing it here. I love what Hulu offers, but the app stalls and buffers for long periods a few times a day. I thought it was my internet connection, but other apps like Netflix do not have any issues. I continue to reboot my Fire TV device, restart Hulu, reboot my cable modem, reboot my router, clear the cache and have discovered it's the Hulu live app itself, since all other apps have no latency issues. If I had other options for streaming tv that had all three networks, ABC, CBS and NBC, I would jump to that instead. But Hulu is the only streaming app that offers all three. Currently the latency is not tollerable, but I am trying to be patient and wait for an update or something that will fix it. FIX IT!!!!! Full Review

Not sure if this is a Roku or Hulu issue, but lately the autoplay feature isn't working. After an episode, the screen just goes black & I have to hit the home button to exit Hulu & restart it. I double checked to make sure the option is set for autoplay. Not sure what else to try. Other then that, Hulu is great. I'm one of the many who has completely dropped cable & survives off of Hulu, Netflix, & Sling. I'll never go back to cable. Full Review

Love the app, except recently it has been crashing incredibly frequently. Can't get through an episode without it causing my entire phone to shut itself down and restart. Other video services don't seem to cause the same issue, so I definitely tend to think it's this app instead of my phone. Full Review

The new UI format is terible. Just the worst. THE WORST. Its so bad that it needed to be said twice. Oh sure it looks all new and shiny, but no functionality. All looks and no substance. You can polish up a ð©, but at the end of the day its still ð©. I think you get my point. *Update* All of the above still holds true. No on top of that the app crashes my phone. Thought for a second that there might be an issue with my phone, but no. Its only the Hulu app that is crashing my phone. Please make this app less sucky. Thanks Full Review

If you love watching adds, Hulu is for you! Tried to watch a two hour movie that had 4, 2.5 minute, scheduled commercial breaks but after sitting through the first set of commercials it restarted the movie and then crashed with an "Error" message. Honestly everytime I try to use Hulu it ends in nothing but frustration; too many adds, videos refuse to play.. Eff Hulu. Save yourself the trouble and stick with Netflix Full Review

3.7.18 Last update stinks...every 2 mins. it crashes my phone. Customer service couldn't help. 3.14.18 The latest update didn't correct the issue. It is a shame it worked great for the first 6 months, that is if you don't mind a bunch of adds...but since the last 2 updates it will run for a few mins. and crash my device...won't keep paying much longer if I can't use it. Over all its great and anime and such is usually kept up on. But there are 750 episodes of "One Piece" on hulu. And there are over 800 episodes. Ive watched the 750 episodes on hulu and i want to keep up on it, but i cant do that when the episodes arent on hulu. I was wondering if there was a reason for the episodes not being on here. I pay for this service, and it's not working! Every time I open Hulu on my smart TV or my phone, it says, "We're having trouble loading this right now. Please check your internet connection and try again. Error code:503." Sometimes it will briefly show the menu, but then as soon as I move the cursor or select an option, it goes right back to the error message. My internet connection is fine! Netflix works perfectly! Apparently keep force restarting my phone. Did all the basic troubleshooting. Update, clear cache, uninstall and reinstall. Checked to see I'd it was another app. Ran a virus scan. All fine. It's only Hulu. If it plays, it freezes after a few moments, and my cell phone reboots. It happens every single time I use this app. Quite frustrating. The update did not fix anything! It is still crashing devices after a short period of watching. I haven't been able to watch a full episode of any show or full movie in a month. Might have to cancel my subscription if this doesn't get fixed. No reason to pay for an app I can't use. Full Review

Update: still has lots of issues. Search function doesn't work very often. Now on Google Pixel 2. I'm considering dropping my paid subscription. Not worth paying for sub-par performance on the app. Stating 503 error. Netflix, HBO Now, Amazon, YouTube - all others work just fine. Full Review

Uses push notifications to display ads for new series. Regardless of your plan, and there is not even an option to turn it off. Apparently Hulu is fine trying to pinch pennies from customers by using their phone as a billboard. And shame on Google Play for even allowing applications like this. Full Review

Really do enjoy watching the show I love. The problems that I had we're taking care of right away and I was given credit for the inconvenience. The longest I had to wait for a problem to be fix was two days. The people I spoke to we're always Nice and willing to help. Everyone one I spoke to also made it a point to talk to me and make sure I was happy at the end of my call. Will stay with Hulu till I can't. Lol Full Review

The problem with Hulu is that they never have anything good to continue watching. Nothing is binge and binge again worthy. And they did at one point with certain shows but now the only show that is re-watchable is Seinfeld. And when they do have shows that are re-watchable or a season of a show that you love they take it off or they have it "expired" and it's not cool. Especially when it's a show that you love and you look at other shows that suck and they have every season of it on there. Also they automatically play things that they recommend for you. Not shows that you have on your favorite list either just random stuff. There needs to be personalization in the selection process of shows being played. There needs to be some kind of communication between the fans and Hulu because the selection is thin and for some reason they think they have a great selection. Full Review

Update: so I have had Hulu for a while now. It is time for March Madness the best tournament if all time. Hulu is NOT prepared, Thursday night I seen in my app they had a "March Madness" tab. I thought awesome, so that night was fairly easy finding where all the games and times were on at and channel. So Saturday evening am looking and they have removed the tab and no longer have a tab for Mens basketball. UGH!!! So needless it was not set up to make this be a easy process to watch. Hulu if you are reading when March Madness starts next year. Please have one tab with everything March Madness in all the channel the games are on. Please you have a chance to great things here. This app was great until it started freezing and making my phone reboot every 30 seconds to five minutes. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times, cleared the cache, checked my connection, and even called my phone company about it. I'm on an lg g5 and have seen several other g5 users complain about the same issue. PLEASE FIX THIS. I just want my Hgtv and food network back. :( Full Review

What happened to this app? The service is good but the UI in this app is miserable. Thankfully they haven't "updated" my smart TV app to this trash format, once that happens I'm unsubscribing until it is easy to navigate. Let me see all the shows and decide what I want to watch! I like the app, but the format in which everything is organized makes it hard to find something to watch. Everything has become so limited, but i know Hulu has more than what the browsing section shows. Please fix the way it's all organized. I liked it much better before. About a week ago the app started freezing and then rebooting my phone. Sometimes it doesnt allow 5 minutes of a show to play while other times it lets a bit more before doing the same thing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times and it keeps doing the same thing. Please fix this! Full Review

Updated. Still has the new interface. Hate it, you have to scroll one at a time. Hard to find episodes /shows, have to go to the laptop to see what I want and then search in app. Thinking of cancelling and using individual show apps since I've gotten good at searching using other methods and the shows I watch most are available in network apps. This new version is terrible, it also updated on my fire TV. The layout is useless, endlessly scrolling. No way to find new episodes or popular episodes. Bring back the old layout please. Full Review

Buy here are my issues: -Advertising is a little much for what you're paying. -The app doesn't any have a fit to screen options making it hard to watch content on newer longer phones -Okay selection: Not a lot that I'm interested. The last update has not made the videos any more watchable. They continue to skip and freeze. This is one of 5 streaming apps I have and this is the only one that does this. All support says is it is my internet connection. When I called them they tried to tell me that I needed Android 10.0 clearly not understanding that Android is only on 8. Full Review

Hulu is a fine service but this app is horrible. It constantly gives error messages when trying to view programs. It isn't the internet connection either. I have no problem with Netflix or Amazon on my phone. Need to fix this app or I will cancel my service. Full Review

This would be a 5-star app but its not reliable at all. So many bugs, so frequently. I've historically used Hulu more than any streaming service, but the amount of shows has dropped, ads have septupled over the years, fees have gone up, and in 2018 the app doesn't even work properly. For the sheer fact that this app doesn't work properly I now find myself using Netflix quite a bit more. Full Review

Lags and skips during Live shows. ALWAYS buffering every few seconds, even on commercials. The commercials even start over sometimes, but of course they play better then your live channels.. Who wouldve thought? Always tell me to check my connection, like it couldnt possibly be a problem on their end. Customer service does nothing but tell you to check your connection. If everything is okay with your connection through their "tests" then they have no clue what it could be. I understand Live is still in Beta, but you cant just tell customers its their internet connection all the time and offer no other help. Please fix and 5 stars. Full Review

I like Hulu but this app... it was so much better before. I get that you want your users to be exposed to content they may have not been aware you offered but it's too much man. I gotta wade through nonsense to get to my shows plus you don't offer shows that relate to what I'm watching. I think you should take to heart what your users are saying and work on making it better. Also the commercials are out of hand. If I don't hear the first few seconds after a commercial break and try to rewind it plays the commercials all over again. It's so annoying I vowed to never buy anything that's advertised because that's how bad it is. Full Review

The latest update from Hulu still has not fix the issue with my LG G5. Every time I watch a show or movie on Hulu my phone just resets itself completely. I am so tired of it! All this started with the security update from t-mobile and Android. Hulu needs to partner with android and T-mobile in order to fix this issue for LG phone users running 7.0 at the moment.
