This update gave the players most of the things they have been asking for over a year now. The only issue i have is that EA is still pushing its pricing model with this game. 300 dollars to full star up a character + another 200 for gear. Its a bit much. The F2P is still full and while you will be hardpressed to make it to number 1 on your shard it is possible and gives great satisfaction. I would recommend atleast giving it a try. Full Review

Good turn based combat star wars game. Ive only played a few hours in total so I haven't gotten far enough to see if it's P2W Update(17-11-29): I've been playing the game now for about 8 months straight. Not a single missed daily login. This game is amazing. Great strategy game that hooks you. Plenty of content and paths to go in this game. Lots of combinations to try and teams to test. All around fun for the semi casual gamer. Just d/l this like a week ago. Very good game, the turn based RPG style works well, the graphics are top notch, as well as the sound is accurate and superb. The only thing is: I just updated it and now cant get past the Lucas film/Disney screen now. The update was not interrupted at all when I downloaded it, but I suspect it got corrupted, contacting support, hope they can help me I do NOT want to start over. Full Review

Awesome game. controls are good, graphics are excellent although I would love to see dodge\block animations. Overall it is a really well developed game. But one side note when ever you see a Disney and EA game expect to spend money. Update: since my initial review, I have noticed that some events have opened up to allow more players to participate. Since I last I reviewed this game, it has gotten better. Characters are still hard to get the level you want. And and the Bronze card are nothing but ****( there a 1 and 90 chance of you getting something you need, and 1 and 10 chance you get something crappy.) There are some characters that look nothing like they are supposed to. The game is still great but unless you commit to it you should not play Full Review

Fun at first, incredible grind later on (cards, money, ability upgrade mats, etc). A lot of stuff doesn't scale with the level. Pay2win model to get cards (11€ for something eh, 42€ for the better popular heroes) - spending crystals for these packs instead of real money gives you a chance to get between 10-330 cards, but 90% of the time you're in the lower spectrum. Those that spent money are basically unbeatable due to their heroes' synergies. No wonder it was made by EA. Full Review

The app is a good grindfest. You'll pour hours into getting characters, and more into the famous. Balance is good, but I hate seeing the same teams of luke, Jedi counselor, Chewbacca, and Talia. Come guys, be creative. Some characters way hard to get when they shouldn't be. A stormtrooper is harder to get than qui-jon-jin. This game over all is a 7/10 at its current state. Full Review

Why is it mandatory to have a Google+ profile? I have Google Play games, and am able to sign in to many other games with that. In order to do so with this game, it wants me to create a Google+ profile. WHY? HOW IS THAT RELEVANT? I can't speak on the gameplay, I never got into the game because I refuse to modify my entire Google account just to log in. Full Review

its Star Wars meets Final Fantasy in way of turn based combat. every battle u gain a little bit more or unlock some other small thing that keeps u hungry for more ! so far i havent spent a penny on this game and yet i am continuously upgrading gear and learning new skills. its a fairly simple yet fun game that gets more complex as you grind and level up. graphics are decent but the music needs more Imperial March in it ! lol Full Review

There was a day where this game was an easy 5 it is pure micro transaction hell. The level of pay-to-win in this game is disturbing. It makes the follies in Battlefront 2 look tame. Character/team balance doesn't seem to exist anymore either. I used to have fun playing this game....but having buy buy buy buy buy constantly shoved down my throat is a big turn off. Full Review

One of the better mobile games. Microtransactions are there, but they're not shoved down your throat or even necessary at all to really enjoy the game, like with so many others! The developers are also frequently improving, adding, and balancing gameplay to keep things fair as well as fresh and interesting and fun. I've also learned quite a bit of Star Wars lore that I didn't know about just from playing! Keep up the fantastic work, guys! Full Review

Great game. Nice mix of action and turn based play. The fact that you can search for specific shards, gear, crafting parts is a touch of genius - no grind. Separate energy for two areas means longer play. Only downside is the rating for this is not high enough! Also, background music changes according to location, very nice detail. Massive amount of characters and variations of them. Great game guys. Really looking forward to updates. Full Review

Many games say they are free to play but you are limited as how far you can go without putting money into the game as long as you grind and have patience as takes time. . GoH is not like that. You can actually gain the better gear, the better characters, etc without dropping buckets of money in the game. All you need to do is regularly play the game, level up your character, and participate. Doing so you will get stronger characters. This game has great gameplay, awesome characters, fun PvP and it's just addicting overall. This game is truly free to play. Full Review

Unless you are willing to drop a ton of money, don't ever expect to get any of the new characters that they release. It wouldn't be that bad as others, but they announce a character, tell you what you'll need, but you'll never have enough time to farm what you need before the events end. It's becoming more and more frequent and unless you open your wallet, you're not getting that new character, especially since you have to unlock it at 7 star to use it. It's great for revenue, but it shows how they real feel about the players. Full Review

This game keeps on reinventing itself getting better over time. The different battles are so clever and makes you want to play more.Very good game. Lots of different types of challenges within the game. The guilds are good for team challenges. The squad challenge is good because as you develop your squad the better rank you can achieve. Galatcic war is cool you get rewards as you face challenges against different squads at all levels. The cantina battles are good for picking up character shards equally the light and dark side battles and the daily challenge are good for g shards for gaining new squad characters or leveling them up. Turn based RPG with absolutely detailed graphics. There are most of the characters from all the star wars movies/series. Gameplay allows equal opportunities to free to play players and spenders. Guilds allow to socialise. New players may get overwhelmed by overall gameplay, but it's fun game, and since this strategy game, little research about aspects of game can give you better position. This is an awesome game. I'm having a lot of fun building up my characters. I wish it were easier to get the individual characters to add to your squad. *editing my review* Ive been playing for at least over a month and im still hovering around level 52. There needs to be more ability to expand without having to pay so much money. I hope there can be more campaigns, and more guild activity goals that seem more achievable. It would be nice to have more challenges for more lower levels also, and the equipment im needing now, i havent even begun to play those levels i can get the gear on. I can give more stars when i'm able to play without having to pay so much money. A better idea would have been to pay for the app itself then smaller items to buy/lower prices. Full Review

Very very good game, would get 5 stars if not for the fact that every 1/8 games freezes after winning meaning you need to close the game and do it again. Doesn't seem too heavily play 2 win based which is a massive shock from an EA game and energy last long and renews quickly. Full Review

I read a review before installing that told me that while spending real money made this game fun, it was easy to advance with hard work, smart play, and without pouring money in. A week later, it's clear to me that this is absolutely false. You can dip your toes in for free, but to really experience the game you need to spend hundreds (easily) of real-world dollars. You can't even buy useful packs for $20. Kind of stunning. Spend your time on other games! Full Review

The intent is to provide players with a sense of pride and accomplishment for unlocking different heroes. As for cost, we selected initial values based upon data from the Open Beta and other adjustments made to milestone rewards before launch. Among other things, we're looking at average per-player credit earn rates on a daily basis, and we'll be making constant adjustments to ensure that players have challenges that are compelling, rewarding, and of course attainable via gameplay. We appreciate the candid feedback, and the passion the community has put forth around the current topics here on Reddit, our forums and across numerous social media outlets. Our team will continue to make changes and monitor community feedback and update everyone as soon and as often as we can. Full Review

Heres the thing... you can play the game free but if you want to REALLY compete with other players then you gotta spend $ on character upgrades. You earn crystals and can get upgrades through those but the upgrades are minimal at best. (I try and try again to use crystals but every time I feel ripped off). Bottom line: Its a really cool game to play but you gotta be prepared to dump $25\week to be competitive. Full Review

Pay to win at its finest. And this whole luck of the draw with cards screw over is a nice touch. Great game but don't get tempted by the loot boxes. They say you can get loads of shards to upgrade your characters (between 5 and 300+) but you'll get much closer to 5 (in my experience a 5 and a 7) than you will to high numbers. Stick to the free to play. Don't waste money unless you're prepared to spend a lot. Full Review

This game is extremely addicting. I love it, however, it is nearly impossible to participate in some events due to characters needed. You have to spend alot of money to get certain required characters, and that's ridiculous. The system needs fixed. Also, the gift of crystals is a nice gesture when there are maintenance issues with the game, but many players would benefit from the gifting of character shards for such issues. Even if you created blank shards, that way we could choose what character to unlock faster, upgrade faster, would be an awesome idea. Full Review

Good luck grinding. Played it for a week, got to level 46 and barely made enough crystals to purchase only 1 character with 8 shards. I don't think I'm prepared to invest another month to get just 1 more character. And even if I did, I wouldn't get the character I want unless I spend over $100+ for crystals. If you can find a way to get characters easier than I'd be happy to come back. Oh and btw, the character I got was a measly 3 stars and the shards were characters I will never use.
