  • Updated: October 14, 2016
  • Requires Android: 2.0 and up
  • Installs: 1,000,000 - 5,000,000

This is a plugin for the Torque pro OBD2 application that shows all the data that Torque has access to as well as some other features that some may find useful for OBD debugging.

* Quick and easy display of available ECU sensors

* OBD PID scanner to quickly map and locate extended PIDs

* Simple Telnet server that allows direct connection to the adapter to allow far easier debugging (aimed at developers)
The main application - Torque - allows you to connect your android device to your cars engine management, and read various sensors, even retrieve fault codes (DTC) and clear them once fixed. It can post to Twitter, log data, supports themes, and so much more!

If you are interested in developing your own plugin then you can find an example app here(which uses AIDL):

This app is broken and it seems the Developer has made it Abandonware. It is supposed to be able to do a PID Scan, then email you the results. The problem is, after letting it do a complete scan (over 4 hours), it sends out an empty email. It still has some use as a Known PID Displayer, but don't waste your time trying to use it's "New PID Scan" feature. Come on Developer, we all give you our cash for the Torque Pro App, please stop ignoring everyone in the Forums and fix this plug-in. Full Review

The torque scan app doesn't continue where it left off and doesn't add any new PIDs to the available PIDs prior to last PID scan. Also, I have been trying to save the pid log locally, but only gives an email option and that won't save to Outlook or Gmail app. Always says I/O error... But possibly not your problem. Full Review

This plugin will scan and report new or all PIDs but it no longer allows the results to be emailed. So it really isn't much good. You can take screen shots of the results and email them of course. Full Review

One person posted voltage variance from multimeter and torque,...hmm, short circuit between seat and steering wheel. Torque reads what cpu sends, if multimeter differs from computer's data on voltage, maybe you just found your car's issue, and Torque did its job perfectly.....think before rating fellow. I have to add Alexey Magher and Rob Derr to the list of people that blame an app for their own lack of knowledge. Your issue is not the app, so why the low rating? Cmon folks! Full Review

Brilliant !!!!!! Ian Hawkins is to be commended for his devotion to the library of torque apps. His work is appreciated by every Auto Tech & REAL performance tuner I know. The main Torque app is WELL WORTH the money. It has everything you need to perform ecu diagnostics on the OBD2 Platform. Well done Ian & keep up with the good work, My Friend. EDIT: This app is a plugin for those of you who have no idea what that is or how it works please do some research BEFORE posting negative reviews, thanks. Full Review

This plugin could very easily be 5 stars, with a couple of exceptions. Samsung S4, 4.4.2. Love Torque, would love this plugin if I could actually get a PID scan to work. Certain attention to detail is lacking. FIRST if during a PID scan, if the orientation of the screen changes, you lose the scan. It may be running somewhere in the background, but, you never get it back. SECOND a HUGE feature is lacking... the ability to pause a scan. Since a complete PID scan takes literally forever, would be nice to break it up over a couple of days. Wouldn't be a hard addition to this plugin to make. Not sure why it's not in there. FIX THESE PLEASE. Full Review

Great app, but... ... being able to save progress on the in depth scan would be nice. I'm trying to find PIDs on my BMW 335d, and on a road trip, I ran the scan. An hour in, the orientation of my phone changed and stopped the scan. An hour after that, I had to stop for fuel. I got a solid 4 hour scan (the rest of the way home) and it never finished. Has anybody ever finished an in depth scan? Full Review

It's a plugin to the Torque OBD app! For those of you 'less enlightened' users, this a plugin to the very excellent Torque app, NOT a stand-alone app! Since it is part of Torque, it does *not* have its own icon, so quit giving it a 1 star rating because you don't understand how to use it! For those that *do* understand the above, you'll find this to be a great add-in to Torque, letting you scan for all the PIDs your car has available to monitor. I'm running Torque OBD on a Samsung S4 with CM 12.1, Samsung Tab 3 7" stock, both are great. Full Review

Great tool! Great app, but won't reset the idiot light. (Snicker) Varying voltages often are caused by wiring degredation. Corroded/oxidized connectors cause a voltage drop. A voltage difference between the battery and the CPU (what torque sees) = caused by the wiring not (likely) due to torque being wrong. Just for the fun of it measure the voltage at your headlight connector vs the battery. Very often the headlights receive 1-2 volts less than measured at the battery-wiring degradation. Full Review

Issues This app made some specific diesel parameters disappear in the app. Such as injector pressure regulator and the likes. On top of that I was never even able to complete a pid scan even after driving for 40 minutes it would just keep scanning. Put the phone to sleep or rotate it and all that work is lost and I have to try again. Please polish this up. Full Review

Must Have Plugin This is one of the best plugin addons get for torque I've had it now for a while both torque and the other competitors and this plugin makes torque unbeatable I'm a mechanic that uses cancels daily since I found this plugin along with torque I've been utilizing this more and more for diagnosing customers vehicles so much so that I've talked many customers with chronic problems into running this Plug in and the main software on there cars to allow self diagnosis and cutting down diagnostics times. Bottom line, its useful and saves money. Thanks Again! Full Review
